Dear Friends and Supporters,
It's hard to believe so much time has passed since my last update. Life has been a whirlwind of challenges and blessings, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to share some important news with you.
First and foremost, I want to thank you for your continued prayers and support during a difficult season. My father passed away in July after a brave two-year battle with cancer. The months leading up to his passing, and those since have been a rollercoaster of emotions. But through it all, God's faithfulness has been a constant anchor.
Even in grief, the Lord has provided strength to continue the ministry He called us to. Our partnership with Valley Rescuers has allowed us to keep serving the homeless in our community. We've been able to provide essential supplies to those in need, bringing warmth and the hope of Christ to the streets of Sunnyslope each week.
One of the most rewarding experiences recently has been walking alongside a family who is living in their car. With your generosity, we were able to repair their vehicle, providing stability as the mother secured employment. She now works full-time. More importantly, we've had the privilege of supporting them spiritually, and connecting them with a local church. Seeing this family's transformation has been a blessing beyond measure. We are still believing in housing for them (shelters are all full).
As winter approaches, we're committed to helping the homeless stay warm. This week alone, we've purchased 83 hooded jackets, 10 sleeping bags, 24 sets of hats and gloves, and 120 pairs of socks. We're collecting these items throughout the winter months and invite you to join us in this effort. Please email juliamckernanministries@gmail.com to arrange a donation drop-off.
On a personal note, I'm excited to share that I'm nearing completion of a book I've been working on for years. I look forward to announcing its release early next year. It's been a labor of love, and I believe it will be an encouragement to many.
This is a season of transition, but God is faithful. Your support – both financially and through prayer – allows us to seize new opportunities to serve. Thank you for standing with Julia McKernan Ministries. Together, we're making a difference in our community.
